Hello, little friends! Welcome to our Maths lesson. Today we are going to meet a new number. It is the number 19!

Look at this big number. This is 19. Can you say it with me? Nineteen!

19 is called nineteen. Say it again. Nineteen! Very good!

Now look at the picture. It is night time, and the sky is dark blue with soft clouds. Look at all the shiny stars! Each star is yellow, and each star has a smiling face. The stars are scattered across the sky. Can you count them all?

Let us count them together. Touch each one with your finger. One! Two! Three! Four! Five! Six! Seven! Eight! Nine! Ten! Eleven! Twelve! Thirteen! Fourteen! Fifteen! Sixteen! Seventeen! Eighteen! Nineteen! There are nineteen! Clap your hands for nineteen!

19 comes just after 18. First we say eighteen. Then we say nineteen. Eighteen, nineteen. One more than eighteen is nineteen.

Here is a little game. Pretend you are a twinkling star. Open and close your hands, twinkle, twinkle. Now count nineteen twinkles with me. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen. Well done!

Now it is time to trace the number 19. Hold up your finger. Let us draw 19 in the air.

Start at the top. Go straight down. That is the number 1. Now for the 9. Start just below the top line. Draw a rounded circle. Then go straight down. That is the number 9. Together they make nineteen!

Let us do it again, nice and slow. Straight down. Round circle. Straight down. 19!

When you trace 19 in your book, always start at the dot. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time.

After tracing, you can colour the nineteen stars at the top of the page. Count them as you colour. You will also find some biscuits, some mice and some wheels in your book. Have fun counting them!

Let us remember what we learned today. The number 19 is called nineteen. We count nineteen things like this: one, two, three, and all the way to nineteen.

19 comes just after 18.

To make the number 19, we go straight down for the 1, then make a round circle and go straight down for the 9. And nineteen and one more make twenty.
