Exercise A: Circle the Number 18

Say "eighteen" with your child. Ask your child to circle every number 18 in the rows below.

Exercise B: Look and Count

Point to the picture in the textbook (page 67). Your child touches each one and counts aloud. Tick the box when your child counts correctly.

Exercise C: Count and Draw

Ask your child to count eighteen fish on page 67 (three columns of six). Then they draw them in the box.

Ask: "How many are there?" Your child says "eighteen".

Exercise D: Colour the Outline Pictures

Print 18 outline pictures of fish (as on page 68). Your child colours them, touching each one once as they count.

Ask: "How many did you colour?" Your child says "eighteen".

Exercise E: Trace the Number 18

Start at the top and go straight down for the 1. Then pause, curve round at the top for the 8, and make a second curve underneath.

Exercise F: Match the Group to the Number

Your child counts each group and draws a line from the group to the number it shows.

Exercise G: Say and Answer

Say each question to your child. Your child answers aloud.
