Hello, little friends! Welcome to our Maths lesson. Today we are going to meet a new number. It is the number eleven!

Look at this big purple number. This is eleven. It looks like two tall, straight lines standing side by side. Can you say it with me? Eleven!

Now look at the picture. We are in a busy pizza restaurant. There is a long table, and on the table there are lots of yummy pizzas. A happy chef is showing them to us. Let us count them together. Touch each one as we count.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven! There are eleven pizzas. Eleven pizzas! Say it with me. Eleven pizzas.

Let us count one more time, nice and slow. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven. Well done!

Here is a clever trick. Ten and one more make eleven. Let us count ten blocks. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Now add one more. Eleven! Ten and one make eleven.

Did you know that eleven comes just before twelve on a clock? Look at the clock face. Can you find eleven? And can you find twelve right next to it?

Now it is time to trace the number eleven. Hold up your finger. Let us draw eleven in the air.

Start at the top and draw a straight line down to the bottom. That is a one. Now do it again, beside the first line. Another straight line from the top to the bottom. That is another one. Two ones together make eleven!

Let us do it again. Straight line down. Another straight line down. Eleven!

One more time, nice and slow. Down, and down. Well done!

When you trace eleven in your book, always start at the dots. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time.

On the next pages, you can colour the pizzas. You can find the plate that has eleven flowers on it. You can find the groups of eleven and join them to the big eleven. And you can count the samosas and write the number in the box. How many samosas are there? Eleven!

Let us remember what we learned today. The number is eleven. Eleven pizzas. Eleven samosas. Ten and one make eleven.
