Hello, little friends! Welcome to our Maths lesson. Today we are going to meet a new number. It is the number seven!

Look at this big yellow number. This is seven. Can you say it with me? Seven!

Now look at the picture. We are in a sunny courtyard with a green lawn, and there are lots of happy ladybirds! Let us count them together. Touch the first ladybird. One! Touch the next one. Two! There are two more talking to each other. Three! Four! Here is a ladybird with its wings open, flying. Five! Here is one in the grass. Six! And one more, near the stone. Seven! One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Seven ladybirds! Wonderful!

Do you know what else has seven? A rainbow has seven colours. Let us count them. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Seven colours! You are so clever.

Can you hold up seven fingers? One hand and two more fingers. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Very good! Seven fingers.

Look at a calendar. A week has seven days. Let us count them. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Seven days!

Now let us build a wall with blocks. Put the blocks in a row. One! Two! Three! Four! Five! Six! Seven! A wall of seven blocks. Well done!

Now it is time to trace the number seven. Hold up your finger. Let us draw seven in the air.

Start at the dot. Go straight across. Stop for a moment. Now slant down. That is the number seven! It has two straight lines.

Let us do it again. Across. Stop. Slant down. Seven!

One more time, nice and slow. Across, stop, down. Well done!

When you trace seven in your book, start at the dot. Follow the green arrows. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time. After tracing, you can colour the seven ladybirds at the top of your page.

Now let us look at the activity page. There are three ponds with frogs in them. Count the frogs in the first pond. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Seven frogs! Now count the other ponds. Which pond has seven frogs? Circle it.

Now look at the fish. Can you draw seven spots on each fish? Count as you draw. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Lovely!

And look at the fish tank. Let us count the fish. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. How many fish are there? Seven! Write the number in the box.

Let us remember what we learned today. This is the number seven. We can count seven ladybirds, seven frogs and seven fish.

A rainbow has seven colours. A week has seven days.

To make the number seven, we go across, stop, and slant down.
