Hello, little friends! Welcome to our Maths lesson. Today we are going to meet a new number. It is the number six!

Look at this big green number. This is six. Can you say it with me? Six!

Now look at the picture. We are in a big sports hall, and there are six basketballs in a row on the floor. Let us count them together. Touch the first basketball. One! Touch the next one. Two! Three! Four! Five! And the last one. Six! One, two, three, four, five, six. Six basketballs! Wonderful!

Do you know what else has six? A ladybird has six legs. Let us count them. One, two, three, four, five, six. Six legs! Insects have six legs. You are so clever.

Can you hold up six fingers? One hand and one more finger. One, two, three, four, five, six. Very good! Six fingers.

Let us look at a dice. Can you find the side with six dots? Let us count the dots. One, two, three, four, five, six. Six dots! Well done!

Now let us stack books into a tower. Put one book down. One! Put another on top. Two! Three! Four! Five! Six! A tower of six books. Great job!

Now it is time to trace the number six. Hold up your finger. Let us draw six in the air.

Start at the top. Curve down and round. Make a loop at the bottom. That is the belly of the six. That is the number six!

Let us do it again. Start at the top. Curve down. Round and round. Six!

One more time, nice and slow. Top, down, round. Well done!

When you trace six in your book, start at the dot. Follow the green arrows. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time. After tracing, you can colour the six basketballs at the top of your page.

Now let us look at the activity page. There are three trees with white apples. Count the apples. One, two, three, four, five, six. Colour the six apples red on each tree.

Can you find the groups of six? Onions. One, two, three, four, five, six. Six onions! Red tomatoes. One, two, three, four, five, six. Six tomatoes! Join them to the big number six. Super!

And look at the zoo. Can you see the giraffe, the elephant and the tiger? There is a polar bear, a rhinoceros and a monkey too. Let us count them. One, two, three, four, five, six. There are six animals in the zoo!

Let us remember what we learned today. This is the number six. We can count six basketballs, six books and six animals.

A ladybird has six legs.

To make the number six, we start at the top, curve down, and make a loop.
