Hello, little friends! Welcome to our Maths lesson. Today we are going to meet a new number. It is the number five!

Look at this big yellow number. This is five. Can you say it with me? Five!

Now look at the picture. We are in a garden, and there is a strawberry plant with big green leaves and little white flowers. Look at the red strawberries! Let us count them together. Touch the first strawberry. One! Touch the next strawberry. Two! Touch the next one. Three! And the next. Four! And the last one. Five! One, two, three, four, five. Five strawberries! Wonderful!

Do you know what else has five? Look at your hand. Hold it up. Let us count the fingers. One, two, three, four, five. Five fingers! Now wiggle them all. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle! You are so clever.

Let us count to five very fast. Ready? One, two, three, four, five. That took five seconds. Let us do it again and clap for each number. One, two, three, four, five. Very good!

Now let us build a tower with blocks. Put one block down. One! Put another on top. Two! Three! Four! Five! A tower of five blocks. Well done!

Now it is time to trace the number five. Hold up your finger. Let us draw five in the air.

Start at the top. Go left to make a hat. Now go straight down to make a neck. Then curve round to make a fat, round belly. That is the number five!

Let us do it again. A hat. A neck. A fat, round belly. Five!

One more time, nice and slow. Hat, neck, belly. Well done!

When you trace five in your book, start at the dot. Follow the green arrows. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time. After tracing, you can colour the five strawberries at the top of your page.

Now let us look at the activity page. There are four cards with pictures. Some have five things on them. Let us count. Stars. One, two, three, four, five. Five stars! Moons. One, two, three. Only three. Ladybirds. One, two, three. Only three. Birds. One, two, three, four, five. Five birds! Colour the cards with five things on them.

Can you find the groups of five fish? Count the fish in each tank. Join the tanks with five fish to the big number five. Super!

And look at the three plates of strawberries. Count the strawberries on each plate. Which plate has five? Circle it. Well done!

Let us remember what we learned today. This is the number five. We can count five strawberries, five fingers and five fish.
