Hello, little friends! Welcome to our Maths lesson. Today we are going to meet a new number. It is the number four!

Look at this big pink number. This is four. Can you say it with me? Four!

Now look at the picture. We are in a sunny garden, and there are four parrots! Let us count them together. Touch the first parrot. One! This one is big and red. Touch the next parrot. Two! This one is blue. Touch the next parrot. Three! This one is yellow and blue. And touch the last parrot. Four! This one is green. One, two, three, four. Four parrots! Wonderful!

Do you know what else has four? A cat has four legs. A dog has four legs. A cow has four legs too. Let us count the legs of a cat. One, two, three, four. Four legs! You are so clever.

Can you hold up four fingers? One, two, three, four. Very good! Four fingers.

Let us look at a phone. Can you find the number four on the keys? Press it four times. One, two, three, four. Well done!

Now let us build a table with blocks. A table needs four legs. One, two, three, four. What if we take one leg away? Now there are only three. Can the table stand? Oh no, it wobbles! A table needs four legs.

Now it is time to trace the number four. Hold up your finger. Let us draw four in the air.

Start at the top. Slant down to the left. Now go straight across to the right. Lift your pencil. Now start at the top again and go straight down, right through the line. Leave a little tail on the line. That is the number four!

Let us do it again. Slant down. Across. Lift. Straight down. Four!

One more time, nice and slow. Down, across, lift, and down. Well done!

When you trace four in your book, follow the green arrows. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time. After tracing, you can colour the four parrots at the top of your page.

Now let us look at the activity page. There are four sheep. Some sheep have four spots. Count the spots with your finger. One, two, three, four. Colour the sheep which have four spots.

Can you find the groups of four? Four purple sweets in a row. One, two, three, four. Four green jellies. One, two, three, four. Join them to the big number four. Super!

And look, here is a boy called Aden. He is holding some balloons. How many balloons does Aden have? One, two, three, four. Aden has four balloons!

Let us remember what we learned today. This is the number four. We can count four parrots, four sheep spots and four balloons.

A cat has four legs. A table has four legs.

To make the number four, we slant down, go across, lift, and go straight down.
