Video Script -- Lesson 48
Sentence
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Skillford
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn about sentences.
A sentence is a group of words that makes complete sense on its own.
Look at this picture. A bird. Does that tell us everything? No. It is only two words. Now listen again. A bird is in the nest. Now it tells us something. That is a sentence.
A sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. Look at the word "A" at the start. It is a capital letter. Look at the dot at the end. It is a full stop.
Now let us listen to some more. Ali is writing. Does it make complete sense? Yes, it is a sentence. The pencil. Does it tell us everything? No. We need more words. The pencil is red. Now it is a sentence.
The bus is red. Yes. Is nice. No. I am reading a story. Yes. Are animals. No. This is a book. Yes. I am happy. Yes. Am sad. No, we do not say who is sad.
Let us quickly go over what we learned today. A sentence makes complete sense on its own. It begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.
Great job, everyone! See you next time!
