Video Script -- Lesson 46
Punctuation
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Skillford
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn about punctuation.
Punctuation marks help us read sentences. Today we will learn two of them. This is a full stop. It looks like a little dot. This is a question mark. It looks like a curly hook with a dot.
A sentence that tells you something ends in a full stop. A sentence that asks something ends in a question mark.
Let us read some sentences together. What is your name? My name is Sana Riaz. How old are you? I am five years old. In which class do you study? I study in prep. Where do you live? I live in Lahore.
Listen to my voice. When I ask a question, my voice goes up. When I tell you something, my voice comes down. Which sentences were asking? Which were telling?
Now let us try some more. My hair is black. That is telling, so we use a full stop. What is in your bag? That is asking, so we use a question mark. Her eyes are brown. A full stop. When do you wake up? A question mark. Hina likes fritters. A full stop.
Let us quickly go over what we learned today. A telling sentence ends in a full stop. An asking sentence ends in a question mark.
Great job, everyone! See you next time!
