Video Script -- Lesson 43
Use of "Yes" and "No"
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Skillford
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn how to use "yes" and "no".
We say "yes" when something is true. We say "no" when it is not. Look at the picture of the orange. Is it an orange? Yes, it is. Very good!
Let us read some questions and answers together. Is it an orange? Yes, it is. Is it a bottle? Yes, it is. Both answers are "yes" because both are true.
Now look at the next picture. Is it a fox? No, it is not. It is a dog. When the answer is "no", we also say what it really is. Is it a ball? No, it is not. It is an egg.
Now it is your turn. Look at the aeroplane. Is it an aeroplane? Yes, it is. Look at the zebra. Is it a horse? No, it is not. It is a zebra. Look at the fan. Is it a pan? No, it is not. It is a fan. Well done!
Let us quickly go over what we learned today. "Yes" means true. "No" means not true. And try to answer in a whole sentence, like "Yes, it is" and "No, it is not."
Great job, everyone! Ask your friends "Is it a ...?" and answer with "yes" or "no". See you next time!
