Video Script -- Lesson 40

Use of "Is", "Am" and "Are"

Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Skillford

Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn how to use "is", "am" and "are".

We use "is" for one person, one animal or one thing. Ali is here. The word "is" goes with one. We use "are" for more than one. The boys are here. The word "are" goes with more than one. And "am" goes with "I" and with nothing else. I am here. Well done!

Let us read some sentences together. He is my brother. It is an eagle. They are friends. I am a student. Did you notice something? "He" and "it" go with "is". "They" goes with "are". "I" goes with "am".

Now it is your turn. Listen to the sentence and say the missing word. Aden is a happy child. The flowers are fresh. I am five years old. The boys are playing hockey. The dog is big. Ducks are gentle. Very good!

Let us quickly go over what we learned today. We use "is" for one. We use "are" for more than one. "Am" goes with "I" and with nothing else.

Great job, everyone! Say some sentences with "is", "am" and "are" to your friends. See you next time!
