Video Script -- Lesson 37

Use of "I" and "My"

Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Skillford

Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn how to use "I" and "my".

When we talk about ourselves, we use "I" and "my". Point to yourself and say "I". Very good! Now hold up your bag and say "This is my bag." Well done!

Look at the picture in your book. A girl and a boy are walking down a street. The boy asks, "Who are you?" The girl answers, "I am Ayesha." She is talking about herself, so she says "I". Then the boy asks, "Whose bag is this?" The girl says, "This is my bag." The bag belongs to her, so she says "my".

Now it is your turn. Look at the rabbit. Someone asks, "Who are you?" The rabbit says, "I am a rabbit." Then someone asks, "What is your name?" The rabbit says, "My name is Bunny."

Let us quickly go over what we learned today. We use "I" and "my" when we are talking about ourselves. "I" tells who we are. "My" tells what belongs to us. And we always write "I" as a capital letter.

Great job, everyone! Tell your friends "I am ..." and "This is my ..." See you next time!
