Video Script -- Lesson 36
Use of "It" and "Its"
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Skillford
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn how to use "it" and "its".
We use "it" for one animal or one thing. Look at a ball and say "It is a ball." Very good! We use "its" to show that something belongs to that animal or thing. "Its colour is red." Well done!
Let us read some sentences together. It is a parrot. Its colour is green. First we name the parrot, so we say "it". Then we talk about the colour that belongs to the parrot, so we say "its".
It is a banana. Its colour is yellow. It is a flower. Its colour is pink. It is a crow. Its colour is black. It is a dog. Its colour is brown. It is a door. Its colour is blue.
Now it is your turn. Look at the balloon. It is a balloon. Its colour is purple. Look at the mango. It is a mango. Its colour is yellow.
Let us quickly go over what we learned today. We use "it" for one animal or one thing. We use "its" to show that something belongs to that animal or thing.
Great job, everyone! Pick something in your classroom and say "It is a ..." and "Its colour is ..." to your friends. See you next time!
