Video Script -- Lesson 32
Describing Words
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Skillford
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn about describing words.
A describing word tells you how something looks, tastes, smells or feels. It tells us what something is like.
Look at the first picture. It is a bird. How big is the bird? It is small. A small bird. The word "small" describes the bird.
Look at the next picture. It is a tower. How is the tower? It is tall. A tall tower. The word "tall" describes the tower.
Look at the last picture. It is an elephant. How is the elephant? It is big. A big elephant. The word "big" describes the elephant.
Can you find something in the room and describe it? Is it big, small, tall or green? Very good!
Now it is time for the activity. Look at each picture and write the correct describing word. Here is the word bank. Small. Green. Sad. Juicy.
Look at the first picture. A boy. He is not happy. He is sad. A sad boy. The next picture is an ant. It is very tiny. A small ant. Next, a tree. It is green. A green tree. And last, an orange. It is full of juice. A juicy orange. Well done!
Let us quickly go over what we learned today. A describing word tells you how something looks, tastes, smells or feels.
Great job, everyone! Describe three things you can see at home. See you next time!
