Video Script -- Lesson 29
Singular and Plural
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Skillford
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn about singular and plural words.
A singular word means one. A plural word means more than one. Let us look at some pictures.
Here is one apple. Apple. This is singular. Here are two apples. Apples. This is plural.
One lion. Two lions. One hen. Two hens. One lock. Two locks. Did you notice something? The plural words all have an "s" at the end! We make a plural by adding "s" to the naming word. Ant, ants. Zebra, zebras. Say them with me.
Now it is time for the activity. Draw a line to match each singular word with its plural. Let us start with hen. One hen. Look for two hens, and draw the line. Lock. One lock. Look for locks. Tiger. One tiger. Look for two tigers. Apple. Apples. And bird. Birds. Count the pictures and check each pair.
Let us quickly go over what we learned today. A singular word means one. A plural word means more than one. We add "s" to a naming word to make it plural.
Great job, everyone! Count the things around you and say singular or plural. See you next time!
