• Remember that a naming word is the name of a person, animal, place or thing
• Tell which kind of naming word a word is
• Choose a naming word to match a picture

Revision Activity 1: Which One?

Time: 5 minutes

• Teacher says a word: Ali, Lion, Fan, Lahore, Camel, Apple, Raza
• Children say "person", "animal", "place" or "thing"

Revision Activity 2: Four Columns

Time: 10 minutes

• Draw four columns on the board: person, animal, place, thing
• Children come up and add a naming word of their own to each column
• Read the whole board together

Revision Activity 3: Name the Picture

Time: 10 minutes

• Show the pictures on page 44 one at a time. Children say the name and find it in the word bank:
  • the boy (Raza)
  • the building (Lahore)
  • the camel (Camel)
  • the apple (Apple)

Key Points to Remember

• A naming word, or noun, is the name of a person, animal, place or thing
• Ali is a person, Lion is an animal, Fan is a thing, Lahore is a place
• Ask "Is it a person, an animal, a place or a thing?"
• Names of people and places begin with a capital letter
