Revision Activity 1: Picture Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Hold up a picture card: blue, true, glue, new, chew, screw, cube, mule, tube
• Children say the word and listen for the long "u"

Revision Activity 2: Three Rows

Time: 10 minutes

• Draw three rows on the board: "ue", "ew" and "u_e"
• Children give words and the teacher writes each word in the right row
• Read each row aloud together

Revision Activity 3: Which Spelling?

Time: 10 minutes

• Say a word from page 29. Children call out "ue", "ew" or "u_e":
  • glue (ue)
  • blew (ew)
  • tube (u_e)
  • true (ue)
  • grew (ew)
  • cute (u_e)
