Revision Activity 1: Listen for "a"

Time: 5 minutes

• Say the words rain, day, cake, hay, snake and tail
• Children say "a" each time they hear the long "a"

Revision Activity 2: Sort the Words

Time: 10 minutes

• Write the three spellings ai, ay and a_e on the board
• Say a word from page 20. Children point to the spelling it uses.
• Do the whole page, one row at a time

Revision Activity 3: Rainy Day Plate

Time: 10 minutes

• Children paint a rainy day on a paper plate
• Write "rain" under the cloud and read it aloud
