Point to each picture in the textbook (page 56). Your child says the word. Tick the box when your child says it.

Exercise E: Colour the Umbrella
Draw a big umbrella in the box. Your child colours it with lots of colours.

Ask: "What is this?" Your child says "umbrella".
Exercise F: Trace and Write Uu
Capital first, then small. "U" goes down, round the bottom and back up. Small "u" goes down, round, up, then straight down the side.

Print rows 1 and 2 in a dotted tracing font. Your child writes "Uu" on their own on row 3.
Exercise G: Say the Sentence
Say the sentence to your child. Your child repeats it.
"The umpire is under an umbrella."
Now ask:
- Who is under the umbrella? (the umpire)
- Where is the umpire? (under an umbrella)
