Video Script -- Lesson 20
Letter Tt
Subject: English | Class: Nursery | Series: Skillford
Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter T!
Look at these two letters. This is big T, the capital letter. And this is small t. Can you say it with me? T!
The letter t makes a sound. It says t, t, t. It is short and quick, like a clock ticking. T, t, t. Tap your knees and say it with me. T, t, t. Very good!
Now look at the big picture. There is a big orange tiger with black stripes. Say tiger. Tiger! Tiger starts with t. T, t, tiger.
Next to the tiger is a little green tortoise with a hard shell on its back. Say tortoise. Tortoise! Tortoise starts with t too.
And look behind them. There is a train puffing out big white clouds of smoke. Choo, choo! Say train. Train!
Listen. The tortoise and the tiger are playing near a train. Say it with me. The tortoise and the tiger are playing near a train. Wonderful!
Now let us look at two more pictures. Here is a cup of tea on a pretty saucer. Say tea. Tea!
And here is a red, juicy tomato. Say tomato. Tomato!
Let us say all our t words together. Tiger. Tortoise. Train. Tea. Tomato. Great job! Can you tell me three of them? Well done!
Now it is time to write Tt. We always write the capital letter first, then the small letter. Hold up your finger and let us draw big T in the air.
Start at the top and go straight down, down, down. Now lift your finger, go back to the top, and draw a line across. That is big T!
Now small t. Start a little way up, go down, and make a little curl at the bottom. Now draw a short line across. That is small t!
Let us do it again. Big T, down and across. Small t, down with a curl, and across. Lovely!
In your book, trace big T and small t along the dotted lines. Then try to write Tt all by yourself. Go slowly and carefully.
Now here is something new. Sometimes t comes at the end of a word. Listen. Ca. Add a t. Cat! Ha. Add a t. Hat! Ma. Add a t. Mat! In your book, write a little t in each space, and say the word with your teacher. At, fat, cat, dot, wet, lot, bat, get, rat, mat, hat, not.
When you finish, you can colour the train at the top of the page. Choo, choo!
Let us remember what we learned today. The letter t says t, t, t.
Tiger starts with t. Tortoise, train, tea and tomato start with t too. And t can come at the end of a word, like cat and hat.
The tortoise and the tiger are playing near a train.
To make big T, we go down and then across. To make small t, we go down with a curl, and then across.
You did a super job today, little friends! Keep saying t, t, t. See you next time! Bye-bye!
