Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter P!

Look at this big letter. This is capital P. And this little yellow one is small p. Can you say it with me? P!

The letter P makes a sound. Put your hand in front of your mouth. Now say p, p, p. Can you feel a little puff of air? Say it with me. p, p, p. Very good!

Now look at the picture. We are in a beautiful garden. There is a peacock with shiny blue and green feathers. Can you say peacock? Peacock! Peacock starts with p. p, p, peacock.

Who else is there? A happy black and white panda! Say panda. Panda! Panda starts with p too. p, p, panda.

And look at that giant peach! The panda is holding a little peach too. Say peach. Peach!

Listen to this. A peacock and a panda are eating a peach. Say it with me. A peacock and a panda are eating a peach. Wonderful!

Now let us look at two more pictures. These words also begin with the letter p.

Here is a green parrot. Parrots can talk! Say parrot. Parrot!

And here is a pen. We write with a pen. Say pen. Pen!

Let us say all our p words together. Peacock. Panda. Peach. Parrot. Pen. Great job!

Can you find some more p pictures? Here is a pumpkin, a sun, a turtle and a panda. Which ones start with p? Pumpkin starts with p. Sun does not. Turtle does not. Panda starts with p! Well done.

Now it is time to write the letter P. Hold up your finger. We always make the capital letter first.

Start at the top and go straight down. Go back to the top. Now curve round to the middle, like a half circle. That is capital P!

Now the small p. Start at the middle line and go straight down, below the line, to make a tail. Go back up, and curve round to the right and back. That is small p!

Let us do it again. Capital P, down, back up, round. Small p, down with a tail, back up, round. Lovely!

When you trace P in your book, make the capital P first and then the small p. Remember, the tail of small p goes below the line. Go slowly and carefully.

After writing, you can colour the peacock at the top of your page with your crayons.

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter P says p, p, p.

Peacock starts with p. Panda starts with p. Peach, parrot and pen start with p too.

A peacock and a panda are eating a peach.
