Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter N!

Look at this big letter. This is capital N. And this little yellow one is small n. Can you say it with me? N!

The letter N makes a sound. Put your tongue behind your top teeth and hum. It says n, n, n. Can you feel it buzz in your nose? Say it with me. n, n, n. Very good!

Now look at the picture. We are in a sunny park. There is a nurse sitting on a bench. Can you say nurse? Nurse! Nurse starts with n. n, n, nurse.

What is the nurse reading? She is reading a newspaper! Say newspaper. Newspaper! Newspaper starts with n too.

And look at the boy. He is holding a net, and a butterfly is flying near it. Say net. Net!

Listen to this. A nurse reads the newspaper, and a boy holds a net. Say it with me. A nurse reads the newspaper, and a boy holds a net. Wonderful!

Can you see the boy's cap? There is a big letter N on it!

Now let us look at two more pictures. These words also begin with the letter n.

Here is a nest. A bird builds a nest out of twigs, and there are blue eggs inside. Say nest. Nest!

And here is a bowl of nuts. Nuts have hard shells. Say nuts. Nuts!

Let us say all our n words together. Nurse. Newspaper. Net. Nest. Nuts. Great job!

Now listen for n at the end of a word. Pen. Fan. Pan. Chin. Can. Ten. Can you hear n at the end? Touch your chin. Chin! Hold up ten fingers. Ten! In your book, you will write a little n at the end of each one.

Now it is time to write the letter N. Hold up your finger. We always make the capital letter first.

Start at the top and go straight down. Go back to the top. Slant all the way down to the bottom. Now go straight up. That is capital N!

Now the small n. Start in the middle and go straight down. Go back up, make one hump and go down. That is small n!

Let us do it again. Capital N, down, back up, slant down, straight up. Small n, down, back up, one hump. Lovely!

When you trace N in your book, make the capital N first and then the small n. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time.

After writing, you can colour the nest at the top of your page.

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter N says n, n, n.
