Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter M!

Look at this big letter. This is capital M. And this little yellow one is small m. Can you say it with me? M!

The letter M makes a sound. Press your lips together and hum. It says m, m, m. Like when your food is very tasty. Mmm! Rub your tummy and say it with me. m, m, m. Very good!

Now look at the picture. There is a little monkey sitting in the grass. Can you say monkey? Monkey! Monkey starts with m. m, m, monkey.

What is the monkey holding? It is a yellow mango! Say mango. Mango! Mango starts with m too. m, m, mango.

And look behind the monkey. There is a big wooden mirror. The monkey can see itself in the mirror! Say mirror. Mirror!

Listen to this. The monkey is eating a mango in front of the mirror. Say it with me. The monkey is eating a mango in front of the mirror. Wonderful!

Now let us look at two more pictures. These words also begin with the letter m.

Here is a blue mug. We drink milk from a mug. Say mug. Mug!

And here is the moon, with a smiling face. We see the moon in the sky at night. Say moon. Moon!

Let us say all our m words together. Monkey. Mango. Mirror. Mug. Moon. Great job!

Can you find some more m pictures? Here is a mask, a tree, a rabbit and a melon. Which ones start with m? Mask starts with m. Tree does not. Rabbit does not. Melon starts with m! Well done.

Now it is time to write the letter M. Hold up your finger. We always make the capital letter first.

Start at the top and go straight down. Go back to the top. Slant down to the middle, then slant back up to the top. Now go straight down. That is capital M!

Now the small m. Start in the middle and go straight down. Go back up, make a hump and go down. Make one more hump and go down. That is small m!

Let us do it again. Capital M, down, back up, slant down, slant up, down. Small m, down, hump, hump. Lovely!

When you trace M in your book, make the capital M first and then the small m. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time.

After writing, you can colour the monkey hanging from the branch at the top of your page.
