Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter H!

Look at these two letters. This big one is capital H. This yellow one is small h. They are the same letter. Can you say it with me? H!

The letter H makes a sound. Put your hand in front of your mouth and breathe out softly. h, h, h. Can you feel the warm air? Say it with me. h, h, h. Very good!

Now look at the big picture. We are on a farm. Can you see a little brown hen? Say hen. Hen! Hen starts with H. h, h, hen.

Next to the hen is a big brown horse. Say horse. Horse! h, h, horse.

And look at this yellow helicopter. It has big eyes and a happy smile! Say helicopter. Helicopter! h, h, helicopter.

Listen to the sentence. The hen and the horse want to ride the helicopter. Say it with me. The hen and the horse want to ride the helicopter. Wonderful!

Now let us look at two more pictures. Here is a little hut with a straw roof. Say hut. Hut! h, h, hut.

And here is a red hat. Say hat. Hat! h, h, hat.

Let us say our H words together. Hen. Horse. Helicopter. Hut. Hat. Great job!

Can you be a helicopter? Spin your arms round and round, like the blades. Faster and faster! Now land. Well done!

Hold up your hands. Hand starts with H too. h, h, hand. When we wash our hands, we can count to twenty while the soap is on.

Now it is time to write the letter H. We always write capital H first, then small h. Hold up your finger.

For capital H, start at the top and go straight down. Start at the top again, a little way across, and go straight down. Now make a line across the middle. Down, down, across. That is capital H!

Now small h. Start at the top and go down in a tall line. Go back up halfway, then over a little hill and down. That is small h!

Let us do it again. Capital H: down, down, across. Small h: tall line down, up, over the hill and down. Super!

In your book, trace capital H and small h along the lines. Go slowly and carefully. Then look at the four pictures: hat, watch, hut and hand. Tick the hat, the hut and the hand, because they start with h. Watch does not start with h, so no tick for the watch.

After that, you can colour the horse at the top of the page. Make it brown with a black mane and tail. That will look lovely!

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter H says h, h, h. Hen, horse, helicopter, hut and hat start with H. The hen and the horse want to ride the helicopter.
