Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter G!

Look at these two letters. This big one is capital G. This yellow one is small g. They are the same letter. Can you say it with me? G!

The letter G makes a sound. It comes from the back of your throat. g, g, g. Say it with me. g, g, g. Very good!

Now look at the big picture. Can you see a goat with curly horns? Say goat. Goat! Goat starts with G. g, g, goat.

Look at all the purple and green grapes. Some are hanging on the vine and some are in a basket. Say grapes. Grapes! g, g, grapes.

And here is a big green gate. Say gate. Gate! g, g, gate.

The goat looks hungry. Listen to the sentence. The goat wants to eat the grapes near the gate. Say it with me. The goat wants to eat the grapes near the gate. Wonderful!

Now let us look at two more pictures. Here is a guava. It is green on the outside and pink on the inside. Say guava. Guava! g, g, guava.

And here is a gift, with a big red bow on top. Say gift. Gift! g, g, gift.

Let us say our G words together. Goat. Grapes. Gate. Guava. Gift. Great job!

Did you know that goats give us milk? Have you ever tasted goat's milk? Tell your teacher!

Now it is time to write the letter G. We always write capital G first, then small g. Hold up your finger.

For capital G, start at the top on the right. Curve round to the left like a big C. Come back up, and make a short line in. That is capital G!

Now small g. Start at the top and go round like a little c. Go back up to the top. Now go straight down, below the line, and curl the tail. That is small g! Small g has a tail that hangs down.

Let us do it again. Capital G: round, up, short line in. Small g: round, up, down and curl. Super!

In your book, trace capital G and small g along the lines. Go slowly and carefully. Then look at the four pictures: grapes, hen, guava and football. Circle the grapes and the guava, because they start with g.

After that, you can colour the goat at the top of the page. Choose your favourite goat colours!

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter G says g, g, g. Goat, grapes, gate, guava and gift start with G. The goat wants to eat the grapes near the gate.
