Video Script -- Lesson 5
Letter Ee
Subject: English | Class: Nursery | Series: Skillford
Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter E!
Look at these two letters. This big one is capital E. This yellow one is small e. They are the same letter. Can you say it with me? E!
The letter E makes a sound. It says e, e, e. Say it with me. e, e, e. Very good!
Now look at the big picture. Can you see a little grey elephant? It has big pink ears and a long trunk. Say elephant. Elephant! Elephant starts with E. e, e, elephant.
What is the elephant looking at? It is an egg in a nest! Say egg. Egg! Egg starts with E too. e, e, egg.
Up on the branch there is a big eagle with brown wings. Say eagle. Eagle! Eagle starts with the letter E too, but listen: it says a long ee sound. Ee, eagle.
Listen to the sentence. The elephant is looking at the eagle's egg. Say it with me. The elephant is looking at the eagle's egg. Wonderful!
Now let us look at two more pictures. Here is an envelope. We put a letter inside and send it in the post. Say envelope. Envelope! e, e, envelope.
And here is an engine. It pulls a train. Chuff, chuff, chuff! Say engine. Engine! e, e, engine.
Let us say our E words together. Elephant. Egg. Envelope. Engine. Great job!
Can you be an elephant? Flap your hands for big ears. Swing your arm for a long trunk. Elephant! Well done!
Now touch your elbow. Elbow starts with E too. e, e, elbow.
Now it is time to write the letter E. We always write capital E first, then small e. Hold up your finger.
For capital E, start at the top and go straight down. Now go back to the top and make a line across. Make a line across the middle. And a line across the bottom. One line down and three lines across. That is capital E!
Now small e. Start in the middle and go across. Then go up and round, and stop at the bottom. That is small e!
Let us do it again. Capital E: down, across, across, across. Small e: across, up and round. Super!
In your book, trace capital E and small e along the lines. Go slowly and carefully. Then write a capital E under the elbow, the elephant, the egg and the envelope.
After that, you can colour the elephant. Make it grey with pink ears. That will look lovely!
Let us remember what we learned today. The letter E says e, e, e. Elephant, egg, envelope and engine start with E. The elephant is looking at the eagle's egg.
You did a super job today, little friends! Keep saying e, e, e. See you next time! Bye-bye!
