Video Script -- Lesson 19
Professions
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Leeds
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we will learn about professions.
A profession is the work a person does. Everybody has to choose a profession when they grow up. Let us meet some people and see what they do.
This is a teacher. She stands next to the board. She teaches students. Your teacher teaches you every day!
This is a cobbler. He has shoes all around him. He mends shoes. When your shoe is broken, the cobbler fixes it.
This is a farmer. He stands in a green field. He grows crops. Crops are the plants that give us food.
This is a doctor. He wears a white coat. He cures patients. When we are sick, the doctor helps us get well.
This is a fishmonger. He is holding a big fish. He sells fish.
This is a driver. He drives a bus. He takes the children to school.
Let us say them together. Teacher. Cobbler. Farmer. Doctor. Fishmonger. Driver. Very good!
Now let us see what some people use. A teacher uses a book. A doctor uses a stethoscope to listen to your heart. A chef cooks food on fire. A painter uses a paintbrush to paint colourful pictures.
Let us play a game. I will say what a person does, and you tell me who it is. I mend shoes. Who am I? A cobbler! I grow crops. Who am I? A farmer! I cure patients. Who am I? A doctor! I drive a bus. Who am I? A driver!
Well done! Every profession is important. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Great job, everyone! See you next time!
