Video Script -- Lesson 17
Greetings
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Leeds
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we will learn about greetings.
A greeting is simply a way of saying hello to someone. When we meet someone, we greet them with kind words and a smile.
Look at the man and the little boy. The man says, "Hi!" The boy says, "Hi!" Hi is a short and friendly way to say hello. We can also say, "Hello!"
Now look at the boy in bed. The sun is shining. It is morning! His mother and father come in and say, "Good Morning!" The boy says, "Good Morning!" too.
When a girl goes to school, her teacher meets her at the door. The teacher says, "Good Morning." The girl says, "Good Morning, Teacher."
When the girl comes home from school, it is afternoon. She says, "Good Afternoon, Mom." Her mother says, "Good Afternoon."
Look at the family at the dinner table. It is evening. They say, "Good Evening!"
Now look at the girl in her night clothes. She is holding her pillow. It is time for bed. She says, "Good Night!"
Let us say all the greetings together. Hello! Good Morning! Good Afternoon! Good Evening! Good Night! Very good!
Now let us play a game. I will tell you the time, and you say the greeting. It is morning ... Good Morning! It is night ... Good Night! It is afternoon ... Good Afternoon! It is evening ... Good Evening!
Well done! Today we learned that a greeting is a way of saying hello. We say Good Morning in the morning and Good Night when we go to bed.
Great job, everyone! Tomorrow, greet your teacher with a big smile. See you next time!
