1. Say that "in", "on" and "under" show positions
2. Say where the cat, the frog and the cow are on page 32
3. Follow a "Show Me" instruction with in, on or under
4. Fill in the blanks on page 33 correctly

Formative Assessment

1. Picture Talk (During Day 1)

• Task: Point to each picture on page 32 and ask "Where is it?"
• Criteria:
  • Says the right position word
  • Tries to say the whole sentence, e.g. "The cat is on the sofa."
• Rating: Excellent / Good / Needs Practice

2. Show Me (During Day 2)

• Task: Give each child three instructions: "Put the pencil in the book." "Put the pencil on the book." "Put the pencil under the book."
• Criteria: Does at least 2 out of 3 correctly
• Rating: Excellent / Good / Needs Practice

3. Activity Time Check (During Day 3)

• Task: Check page 33
• Criteria:
  • Correct word in each blank
  • Letters formed clearly
• Rating: All correct / Most correct / Needs support

Part A: Oral (4 marks)

1. Where is the cat? (on the sofa) (1 mark)

Part B: Fill in the Blanks (5 marks)

• Follow one instruction with in, on or under correctly

Remediation Plan

• Children who score below 5/10 should:
  • Play "Show Me" with the teacher every day using a pencil and a book
  • Say the four sentences on page 32 with the teacher
  • Practise one position word at a time
