Video Script -- Lesson 15
Use of "These" and "Those"
Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Leeds
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we are going to learn two more little words: "these" and "those".
Do you remember "this" and "that"? We use them for one thing. When there is more than one thing, we use "these" and "those".
"These" is used for things, more than one thing, which are nearby. "Those" is used for things, more than one thing, which are far away.
Let us read together. These are cubs. The cubs are nearby. Those are tigers. The tigers are far away.
These are rabbits. Those are carrots. These are chicks. Those are eggs.
Can you hear the difference? "These" is for many things near you. "Those" is for many things far away.
Now it is your turn. Look at the pictures and make sentences. Here are some frogs. If they are near you, say: These are frogs. If they are far away, say: Those are frogs.
Let us try more. These are ants. Those are boys. These are balloons. Those are horses. These are camels. Well done!
Remember to start your sentence with a capital letter and end it with a full stop.
Let us quickly go over what we learned today. "These" is for more than one thing nearby. "Those" is for more than one thing far away. These are cubs. Those are tigers.
Great job, everyone! At home, find some things near you and say "these", then point to some things far away and say "those". See you next time!
