Use of "And"

• Remember that "and" joins two words
• Say and write pairs of words with "and"

Revision Activity 1: Pair the Pictures

Time: 10 minutes

• Put picture cards on the board: apple, orange, bat, ball, cup, glass
• A child picks two cards that go together and puts the "and" card between them
• The class reads the phrase: "apple and orange", "bat and ball", "cup and glass"

Revision Activity 2: Hold Up Two

Time: 10 minutes

• Give two children one object or picture each (for example, a cup and a glass)
• They stand side by side. The class says: "cup and glass"
• Repeat with apple and orange, and bat and ball

Revision Activity 3: Write It

Time: 10 minutes

• Children write on their slates or in notebooks:
  • apple and orange
  • bat and ball
  • cup and glass
• Teacher checks spaces between words

Key Points to Remember
