1. Say It With "And" (During Day 1)

• Task: Show two picture cards (apple and orange, or bat and ball). The child says the two names joined with "and".
• Criteria:
  • Says both names correctly
  • Puts "and" in the middle
• Rating: Excellent / Good / Needs Practice

2. Writing Check (During Day 2)

• Task: The child writes "apple and orange" and "cup and glass" in the book.
• Criteria:
  • Letters are formed correctly
  • Spaces between words
• Rating: Neat and accurate / Satisfactory / Needs improvement

Part A: Oral (4 marks)

1. What do we use "and" for? (1 mark)
2. Say the names: apple, orange, using "and". (1 mark)
3. Say the names: bat, ball, using "and". (1 mark)

Remediation Plan

• Children who score below 5/10 should:
  • Practise with real objects: hold up two things and say both names with "and"
  • Trace "and" on dotted lines every day
  • Read the phrases "apple and orange" and "bat and ball" with the teacher
