Story Time

Hello children! Welcome to Story Time. Today's story is called "Truthfulness". It is a story about a cow and a lion.

One day a cow went into the forest. She saw fresh green grass there, and started grazing.

Suddenly, a lion came and caught her. She begged for her life and cried bitterly. She said, "Please let me go. My calf is waiting for me. He would be hungry."

The lion said, "How can I trust you?" He also said, "If I let you go, you wouldn't come back."

She said, "I will be back after feeding my calf." The lion agreed and let her go. She went to her calf and fed him. Then she said, "Goodbye, Son!"

After an hour, the lion saw that the cow was coming back fast. Soon she came near the lion's den. The lion was impressed with her truthfulness and freed her. He said, "You can go back. I shall not kill you." The cow thanked him and rushed fast towards her calf.

What a good cow! She made a promise, and she kept it. She told the truth, even when she was scared.

The moral of the story is: Truth needs no support.
