Revision Activity 1: Picture Retell

Time: 10 minutes

• Show the pictures on pages 16-17 one by one
• Children tell what happens in each picture:
  • The cow is grazing in the forest
  • The lion catches the cow
  • The cow goes to feed her calf
  • The cow comes back to the lion's den

Revision Activity 2: Act the Story

Time: 10 minutes

• Two children act as the cow and the lion
• Use the book's lines:
  • Cow: "Please let me go. My calf is waiting for me. He would be hungry."
  • Lion: "How can I trust you?"
  • Cow: "I will be back after feeding my calf."
  • Lion: "You can go back. I shall not kill you."
• Let other pairs take turns

Revision Activity 3: Question Time

Time: 10 minutes

• Ask and give a star for each correct answer:
  1. Where did the cow go? (into the forest)
  2. Who caught the cow? (a lion)
  3. Who was waiting for the cow? (her calf)
  4. Did the lion let the cow go? (yes)
  5. What happened to the cow in the end? (the lion freed her)

Revision Activity 4: Colour and Talk

Time: 10 minutes

• Children finish colouring the lion and the cow on page 18
• Each child says one thing about the cow or the lion
