Video Script -- Lesson 6

Use of "Has" and "Have"

Subject: English | Class: Prep | Series: Leeds

Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. Today we will learn two small words. The words are "has" and "have".

"Has" is used for one person, one animal or one thing. But we do not use "has" with "I" and "You".

"Have" is used when there are many. We also use "have" with "I" and "You". So we say "I have" and "you have".

Let us look at the pictures in our book. This is Ali. He has a ball. Ali is one boy, so we say "has". He has a ball.

This is Arman. He has a bat. Arman is one boy too, so we say "has". He has a bat.

They are friends. They have snacks to eat. There are two friends, so we say "have". They have snacks to eat.

Now let us try some together. The parrot has a chilli. There is one parrot, so we say "has".

We have a car. "We" means many people, so we say "have".

She has an ice cream. She is one girl, so we say "has".

They have food. "They" means many people, so we say "have".

Ali has a balloon. Ali is one boy, so we say "has".

Let us remember. One person, one animal or one thing: has. Many, or I, or you: have. I have, you have, we have, they have. He has, she has.

Great job, everyone! Look around you and say what you have. I have a pencil. I have a bag. See you next time!
