• Read blend words from the book
• Find the beginning blend of a picture word

Revision Activity 1: Blend Chant

Time: 5 minutes

• Say each blend and one book word with the class:
  • bl -- blue, gl -- glue, pl -- play, cl -- clap
  • fl -- flip, sl -- sled, cr -- crab, gr -- grass
  • pr -- pray, dr -- draw, tr -- train

Revision Activity 2: Act It Out

Time: 10 minutes

• Say an action word from the book: clap, climb, play, draw, flip
• Children do the action and say the blend

Revision Activity 3: Picture Blends

Time: 10 minutes

• Show the pictures from page 7: prince, globe, snail, cloud, bread, frog, drum, plant
• Children say the picture name and the beginning blend

Revision Activity 4: Blend Hunt

Time: 5 minutes

• Hold up a blend card (gr, tr, cl)
• Children find a word with that blend on page 6 and read it
