Say "y" with your child. Ask your child to circle every letter y in the rows below.

Exercise B: Look and Say
Point to each picture in the textbook (page 27). Your child says the word. Tick the box when your child says it.

Exercise C: Match the Word to the Picture
Say each word aloud. Your child draws a line from the word to the correct picture.

Exercise D: Colour the Yo-Yo
Draw a big yo-yo with a string in the box. Your child colours the yo-yo orange.

Ask: "What is this?" Your child says "yo-yo".
Exercise E: Trace the Letters Y and y
Start at the top. Small "y" has a long tail that goes below the line.

Print these rows in a dotted tracing font, with a red dot at the starting point of each letter.
Exercise F: Say the Chant
Say each line to your child. Your child repeats it.

"y / y / yolk"
"y / y / yo-yo"
"y / y / yak lives on high land"
Now ask:
- Where does the yak live? (on high land)
- What sound does yolk start with? (/y/)
Exercise G: Count the y's
Point to each "y" as you count together.
