Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter v!

Look at this big red letter. Here is a big V and a small v. Can you say it with me? v!

The letter v makes a buzzy sound. Put your top teeth on your bottom lip and buzz. v, v, v. Can you feel your lip tickle? Very good!

Now look at the picture. We are at the beach. Can you see the big colourful van? It has pretty flowers on it. Say van. Van! Van starts with v. v, v, van.

Who is standing next to the basket? It is a vulture! The vulture is a big bird with dark wings and a yellow beak. Say vulture. Vulture! v, v, vulture.

Here is a violin. A violin makes music. Say violin. Violin! v, v, violin.

And look at the basket. It is full of vegetables. Say vegetables. Vegetables! v, v, vegetables.

Let us say all our v words together. Van. Vulture. Violin. Vegetables. Great job!

Now let us say the chant from the top of the page. Clap with me. v, v, vulture. v, v, van. v, v, violin. Wonderful!

Here is one more line. Listen. v, v, vegetables make us strong and tall. Say it with me. v, v, vegetables make us strong and tall. Now stretch up high, tall like a tree!

Now it is time to trace the letter v. Hold up your finger. Let us draw v in the air.

Start at the top. Slant down to the bottom. Now slant back up to the top. That is the letter v!

Let us do it again. Down, and up. v!

One more time, nice and slow. Down, and up. Well done!

Big V and small v have the same shape. Small v is just a little smaller.

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter v says v, v, v.

Van starts with v. Vulture starts with v. Violin and vegetables start with v too.

v, v, vegetables make us strong and tall.

To make the letter v, we go down and back up.
