Revision Objectives

• Recognise the letters "V" and "v" and say the sound /v/
• Recall the words van, vulture, violin and vegetables
• Say the chant and the rhyme line "v / v / vegetables make us strong and tall"
• Trace "V" and "v" with the correct stroke

Revision Activity 1: Vegetable Basket Pass

Time: 5 minutes

• Sit in a circle and pass a small basket around
• When a learner holds the basket, they say "vegetables" and the sound /v/
• Keep going until everyone has had a turn

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 24 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: van, vulture, violin, vegetables
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Chant Clap

Time: 5 minutes

• Say the chant from the letter box, clapping on each "v":
  • "v / v / vulture"
  • "v / v / van"
  • "v / v / violin"
• Learners repeat in a loud voice, then a whisper
• Let two volunteers say it on their own

Revision Activity 4: Strong and Tall

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners crouch down small
• Say "v / v / vegetables make us strong and tall" together
• On "strong" learners show their arm muscles; on "tall" they stretch up high

Revision Activity 5: Air, Board and Pencil Tracing

Time: 8 minutes

• Draw a big "V" in the air together: start at the top, slant down, slant back up
• Let learners trace "V" with a finger on the board
• Trace one dotted row of "v" on a fresh sheet with a pencil
• Check that every learner starts at the top

Revision Activity 6: Find the v

Time: 2 minutes

• Write v, w and u large on the board
• Ask: "Which one is v?" Learners point and say /v/
