Say "u" with your child. Ask your child to circle every U and u in the rows below.

Exercise B: Look and Say
Point to each picture in the textbook (page 23). Your child says the word. Tick the box when your child says it.

Exercise C: Match the Word to the Picture
Say each word aloud. Your child draws a line from the word to the correct picture.

Exercise D: Colour the Umbrella
Draw a big open umbrella in the box. Your child colours the umbrella orange and white, like the one on page 23.

Ask: "What is this?" Your child says "umbrella".
Exercise E: Trace the Letter Uu
Big U: start at the top, go down, curve round at the bottom and go back up. Small u: start in the middle, go down, curve round, go back up, then go straight down.

Print these rows in a dotted tracing font, with a red dot at the starting point of each letter.
Exercise F: Say the Chant
Say each line to your child. Your child repeats it.
"u / u / unicorn"
"u / u / uniform"
"u / u / urn"
"u / u / umbrella saves you from the weather"
Now ask:
- What saves you from the weather? (the umbrella)
- What is in the urn? (flowers)
Exercise G: Big U or Small u?
Your child colours the big U letters orange and the small u letters blue.
