Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter U!

Look at this big red letter. This is big U. And next to it is small u. Big U and small u. Big U looks like a cup. Can you say it with me? U!

The letter u makes a sound. It says u, u, u, like at the start of umbrella. Say it with me. u, u, umbrella. Very good!

Now look at the picture. We are in a beautiful garden. There is a big house with a pink roof and lots of windows.

Who is this, jumping across the garden? It is a unicorn! The unicorn is white, with a rainbow mane and a golden horn. Say unicorn. Unicorn! Unicorn starts with u. u, u, unicorn.

Look at this boy. He is wearing his school uniform. He has a white shirt, a blue tie and black trousers. Say uniform. Uniform! u, u, uniform.

What is the boy holding over his head? It is an umbrella! It is orange and white. Say umbrella. Umbrella! u, u, umbrella.

And look at the front. Here is a pot full of pretty flowers. It is called an urn. Say urn. Urn! u, u, urn.

Let us say our chant together. Clap with me. u, u, unicorn. u, u, uniform. u, u, urn. Wonderful!

Now listen to this line about the umbrella. u, u, umbrella saves you from the weather. Hold up a pretend umbrella over your head. Say it with me. u, u, umbrella saves you from the weather. Great job!

Let us say all our u words together. Unicorn. Uniform. Urn. Umbrella. Super!

Can you gallop like the unicorn? Gallop, gallop! Now stand up smart, like the boy in his uniform. You are so clever.

Now it is time to trace the letter U. Hold up your finger. Let us draw big U in the air.

Start at the top. Go down, down. Curve round at the bottom. Now go back up to the top. That is big U, like a cup!

Now small u. Start in the middle. Go down, curve round, go back up. Now go straight down to make a little stick. Small u!

Let us do it again, nice and slow. Down, round, and up. Well done!
