Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter R!

Look at this big red letter. This is big R. And next to it is small r. Big R and small r. Can you say it with me? R!

The letter r makes a sound. It says r, r, r. It sounds like a little engine. rrr! Say it with me. r, r, r. Very good!

Now look at the picture. There are tall mountains, green palm trees and a little pond.

Who is this? It is a grey rabbit with long ears and a white fluffy tail! Say rabbit. Rabbit! Rabbit starts with r. r, r, rabbit.

Look at the log. There is a small rat standing on it. The rat is looking up at the rabbit. Say rat. Rat! r, r, rat.

Now look up in the sky. Whoosh! It is a rocket! The rocket is blue and white, and fire is coming out of the back. Say rocket. Rocket! r, r, rocket.

And look at these beautiful red flowers. They are roses. Say rose. Rose! r, r, rose.

Let us say our chant together. Clap with me. r, r, rabbit. r, r, rat. r, r, rocket. Wonderful!

Now listen to this line about the rose. r, r, rose is the king of flowers. Say it with me. r, r, rose is the king of flowers. Sit up tall like a king. Great job!

Let us say all our r words together. Rabbit. Rat. Rocket. Rose. Super!

Can you hop like the rabbit? Hop, hop, hop! Now crouch down low. 3, 2, 1, blast off like a rocket! You are so clever.

Now it is time to trace the letter R. Hold up your finger. Let us draw big R in the air.

Start at the top. Go straight down. Go back up to the top. Curve round to the middle. Now slide a leg down. That is big R!

Now small r. Start in the middle. Go straight down. Go back up and make a little curve over. Small r!

Let us do it again, nice and slow. Down, up, round, and a leg. Well done!

When you trace R on your sheet, always start at the red dot. Go slowly and carefully. Take your time.
