Exercise A: Circle the Letter q
Say "q" with your child. Ask your child to circle every Q and q in the rows below.

Exercise B: Look and Say
Point to each picture in the textbook (page 19). Your child says the word. Tick the box when your child says it.

Exercise C: Match the Word to the Picture
Say each word aloud. Your child draws a line from the word to the correct picture.

Exercise D: Colour the Quill
Draw a big feather pen in the box. Your child colours the quill yellow and brown.

Ask: "What is this?" Your child says "quill". Ask: "Who has a quill?" Your child says "queen".
Exercise E: Trace the Letter Qq
Big Q: start at the top, curve round to the left and close it, then add a little tail. Small q: start at the top, curve round like a ball, go back up, then go straight down below the line.

Print these rows in a dotted tracing font, with a red dot at the starting point of each letter.
Exercise F: Say the Chant
Say each line to your child. Your child repeats it.

"q / q / quiver"
"q / q / quill"
"q / q / queen has a quill"
Now ask:
- Who has a quill? (the queen)
- What is in the quiver? (arrows)
Exercise G: Big Q or Small q?
Your child colours the big Q letters pink and the small q letters blue.
