Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter Q!

Look at this big red letter. This is big Q. And next to it is small q. Big Q and small q. Can you say it with me? Q!

The letter q makes a sound. It says kw, kw, kw. Make your lips round and say it with me. kw, kw, kw. Very good!

Now look at the picture. There is a big pink castle with red roofs and little red flags. What a beautiful castle!

Who is standing in front of the castle? It is a queen! She has a crown and a long pink dress. Say queen. Queen! Queen starts with q. q, q, queen.

What is the queen holding in her hand? It is a quill. A quill is a pen made from a long feather. Say quill. Quill! q, q, quill.

Look at the front. Here is a round little bird with a curly feather on its head. It is a quail. Say quail. Quail! q, q, quail.

And next to the tree is a quiver. A quiver is a bag that holds arrows. Say quiver. Quiver! q, q, quiver.

Let us say our chant together. Clap with me. q, q, quail. q, q, quiver. q, q, quill. Wonderful!

Now listen to this line about the queen. q, q, queen has a quill. Say it with me. q, q, queen has a quill. Can you pretend to write with a quill, just like the queen? Great job!

Now it is time to trace the letter Q. Hold up your finger. Let us draw big Q in the air.

Start at the top. Curve round to the left, all the way round, and close it, just like O. Now add a little tail at the bottom. That is big Q!

Now small q. Start at the top. Curve round like a little ball. Go back up. Now go straight down, down, below the line. Small q!
