Revision Objectives

• Recognise big P and small p and say the sound /p/
• Recall the words peach, panda, parrot and peacock
• Say the chant and the rhyme line "p / p / peacock is emperor of colours"
• Trace big P and small p with the correct stroke

Revision Activity 1: Puff Test

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners hold a hand in front of their mouths
• Say /p/ together and feel the little puff of air
• Then say "p / p / peach" and "p / p / panda" and feel the puff on each "p"
• Let each learner say one "p" word on their own

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 18 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: peach, panda, parrot, peacock
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Chant Clap

Time: 5 minutes

• Say the chant with a clap on each "p": "p / p / peach", "p / p / panda", "p / p / parrot"
• Learners repeat in a whisper, then a big loud voice
• Let two volunteers lead the chant on their own

Revision Activity 4: Peacock Parade

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners spread their fingers behind them like the peacock's tail
• They walk proudly and say "p / p / peacock is emperor of colours"
• Then they flap like the parrot and say "parrot"

Revision Activity 5: Air, Sand and Pencil Tracing

Time: 8 minutes

• Draw a big "P" in the air together: straight down, back up, round to the middle
• Let learners trace the big red "Pp" on page 18 with a finger
• Trace one dotted row of P and one of p on a fresh sheet with a pencil
• Check that every learner makes the straight line first

Revision Activity 6: Big P or Small p?

Time: 3 minutes

• Hold up letter cards one at a time: P, p, P, p
• Learners stretch up tall for big P and crouch down small for small p
• Say /p/ each time
