Revision Objectives

• Recognise the letter "Ll" and say its sound /l/
• Recall the words lamb, lemon, log and lion
• Say the chant and the rhyme line "l / l / lion roars in the jungle."
• Trace "l" with the correct stroke

Revision Activity 1: Lemon Pass

Time: 5 minutes

• Sit in a circle and pass a real lemon around
• When a learner holds the lemon, they say "lemon" and the sound /l/
• Ask: "What colour is it?" and let the learner answer
• Keep going until everyone has had a turn

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 14 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: lamb, lemon, log, lion
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Chant Clap

Time: 5 minutes

• Say the chant and clap on each "l": "l / l / lamb, l / l / lemon, l / l / log"
• Learners say it in a soft lamb voice, then a loud lion voice, then a whisper
• Let two volunteers say it on their own

Revision Activity 4: Roaring Lion

Time: 5 minutes

• Say the rhyme line: "l / l / lion roars in the jungle."
• Learners make lion paws, give a big roar and repeat the line
• Ask: "What sound does lion start with?" Learners say /l/

Revision Activity 5: Air and Sand Tracing

Time: 7 minutes

• Draw a big "L" in the air together: line down, then across to the right
• Draw a small "l" in the air: one tall line straight down
• Let learners trace "l" with a finger in a sand tray
• Check that every learner starts at the top

Revision Activity 6: Big Lion, Little Lion

Time: 3 minutes

• Show the big lion and the lion cub on page 14
• Ask: "Which lion is big? Which lion is small?" Learners point
• Learners roar loudly for the big lion and softly for the cub, saying "lion"
