Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter k!

Look at this big red letter. This is big K, and this is small k. Can you say it with me? k!

The letter k makes a sound. It says k, k, k. It is a short little sound. Say it with me. k, k, k. Very good!

Now look at the picture. We are in a beautiful palace garden. Who is this tall man? He has a gold crown on his head and a long white beard. He is the king! Say king. King! King starts with k. k, k, king.

Look near the king's feet. There are two little kittens. One is white and one is brown. Meow, meow! Say kitten. Kitten! k, k, kitten.

Here is a grey, fluffy koala. It has big round ears and a black nose. Say koala. Koala! k, k, koala.

And look at this! It is a kangaroo. It has a little baby in its pouch. Say kangaroo. Kangaroo! k, k, kangaroo.

Let us say all our k words together. King. Kitten. Koala. Kangaroo. Great job!

Now let us say our chant. Clap with me. k, k, king. k, k, kitten. k, k, koala. Wonderful!

Here is a little rhyme about the kangaroo. Listen. k, k, kangaroo jumps high in the air. Say it with me. k, k, kangaroo jumps high in the air. Can you jump high like a kangaroo? Jump, jump!

Let us play a game. When I say king, stand up tall and fold your arms. King! When I say kitten, say meow. Kitten! Meow. When I say kangaroo, jump high. Kangaroo! Jump! Well done!

Now it is time to draw the letter k. Hold up your finger. Let us draw a big K in the air. Go straight down, a long line. Now slant in to the middle, and slant out to the bottom. Big K!

Now let us draw a small k. Start at the top. Go down, down, down, a tall line. Now a small slant in, and a small slant out. Small k!

One more time, nice and slow. Tall line down, slant in, slant out. Well done!

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter k says k, k, k.

King starts with k. Kitten starts with k. Koala and kangaroo start with k too.

k, k, kangaroo jumps high in the air.
