Point to each picture in the textbook (page 11). Your child says the word. Tick the box when your child says it.

Exercise C: Match the Word to the Picture

Say each word aloud. Your child draws a line from the word to the correct picture.

Exercise D: Colour the Ice Cream

Draw a big ice cream cone outline in the box. Your child colours the ice cream pink and purple and the cone brown.

Big I: line down, then across the top and across the bottom. Small i: short line down, then a dot on top.

Exercise F: Say the Chant

Say each line to your child. Your child repeats it.

"i / i / igloo"    "i / i / ice"    "i / i / ice cream"

"i / i / insect has no bones."

Now ask:

1. Which one is a house made of ice and snow? (the igloo)
2. What has no bones? (the insect)
