Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter i!

Look at this big red letter. This is big I, and this is small i. Small i has a little dot on top. Can you say it with me? i!

The letter i makes a sound. It says i, i, i. Give a little smile and say it with me. i, i, i. Very good!

Now look at the picture. Brrr! It is cold here. There is snow everywhere. Can you see the white round house? It is an igloo. An igloo is a house made of ice and snow. Say igloo. Igloo! Igloo starts with i. i, i, igloo.

Look down here. These are ice cubes. They are cold and shiny. Say ice. Ice!

And look at this! A big ice cream in a crunchy cone. It is pink and purple, with berries on top. Yum, yum! Say ice cream. Ice cream! Ice and ice cream start with i too.

Who is this little friend with red wings and black spots? It is a ladybird. A ladybird is an insect. Say insect. Insect! i, i, insect.

Let us say all our i words together. Igloo. Ice. Ice cream. Insect. Great job!

Now let us say our chant. Clap with me. i, i, igloo. i, i, ice. i, i, ice cream. Wonderful!

Here is a little rhyme about the insect. Listen. i, i, insect has no bones. Say it with me. i, i, insect has no bones. The little insect is so soft and small!

Let us play a game. When I say igloo, make a round roof over your head. Igloo! When I say ice cream, lick your pretend ice cream. Ice cream! Lick, lick. When I say insect, crawl your fingers up your arm. Insect! Crawl, crawl. Well done!

Now it is time to draw the letter i. Hold up your finger. Let us draw a big I in the air. Go straight down. Now a little line across the top, and a little line across the bottom. Big I!

Now let us draw a small i. Start at the top. Go down, a short line. Now lift your finger and make a dot on top. Dot! Small i!

One more time, nice and slow. Short line down, and a dot on top. Well done!

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter i says i, i, i.

Igloo starts with i. Insect starts with i. Ice and ice cream start with i too.
