Revision Objectives

• Recognise the big "F" and the small "f" and say the sound /f/
• Recall the words flag, flower, frog and fish
• Say the chant "f / f / flag, f / f / flower, f / f / frog"
• Repeat the rhyme line "f / f / fish loves diving and rolling"

Revision Activity 1: Flower Pass

Time: 5 minutes

• Sit in a circle and pass a real flower around
• When a learner holds the flower, they say "f / f / flower"
• Ask: "What colour is it?" and let the learner answer
• Keep going until everyone has had a turn

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 8 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: flag, flower, frog, fish
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Frog Jump Chant

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners crouch like frogs
• Say the chant box from page 8 and hop once after each line:
  • f / f / flag
  • f / f / flower
  • f / f / frog
• Repeat in a big voice, then a whisper

Revision Activity 4: Fish Rhyme

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners put their hands together like a fish
• Dive the hands down and roll them round while saying "f / f / fish loves diving and rolling"
• Stop and point to the fish on page 8

Revision Activity 5: Big F, Small f

Time: 5 minutes

• Hold up an "F" card, an "f" card and an "E" card
• Learners say "big F", "small f" or "E" for each card
• Draw both in the air together: big F is a line down and two lines across; small f is a hook, a line down and a short line across

Revision Activity 6: Finger Tracing

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners run a finger over the big red "Ff" on page 8
• Trace a big "f" in a sand tray or on the board
• Check that every learner starts at the top
